Loretta A. Charbonneau, 84, of Yardville, NJ, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022, peacefully, at home. Born and raised in Newark, NJ, Loretta lived in Hightstown for two years and was a Yardville resident for the past 56 years. Loretta retired in 2004, after more than 20 years, from the Office of Congressman Chris Smith where she served as District Director. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Raphael’s Holy Angels Parish, Hamilton, NJ. Daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Donoghue Ley, wife for 49 years of the late George V. Charbonneau, mother-in-law of the late Silvia Charbonneau and sister of the late Betty Geiger and John Ley, she is survived by her son Paul Charbonneau, her daughters and sons-in-law Mary and Marcelino Roldan and Catherine and Chip Mackersie, her grandchildren Isabel and Gabriel Charbonneau, Jordan and Evin Roldan and Kylie, Collin and Connor Mackersie, her brothers Jerry, Vincent and Glen Ley and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Raphael’s Church, 3500 S. Broad St., Hamilton, NJ. As flowers WILL NOT be accepted at the church or funeral home, memorial contributions may be made in Loretta’s honor to Smile Train (smiletrain.org) or Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (trentonsoupkitchen.org).
