Obituary of Catherine A Garruba

Catherine “Kay” Garruba born in Trenton and a Hamilton resident all her life, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 after a life filled with fun, friendships and love. She was a member of St. Raphael’s parish and their Altar Rosary Society. She was retired from General Motors. She was very active in all offices in the Union from Executive board member to Vice President of Local 731 UAW, as well as very active in local and state politics. She was a Democratic committee woman for many years. Up to her passing she was an active member of March of Dimes, Stray Cats of Hamilton and participated in charity work. Kay is predeceased by her parents, Alexander & Anna Belforie Pietrosilli her siblings, Louis, Thomas, John, Anthony, Jean Ridorfino and her husband Daniel, Bertha Eberst and her husband, John G. Eberst, sister in law Lydia Petroselli, and her nephew John A. Eberst, and niece MaryAnne Hoch. She is survived by her brother, Albert Petroselli, of California and numerous nieces/nephews, great nieces/nephews, and great-great nieces/nephews. Kay was a good-hearted, woman who loved her family & friends and lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed trips to AC and Williamsburg Virginia, telling her jokes and funny stories, watching western movies, and her daily scratch-off lottery tickets or playing her “numbers”. She helped countless people and supported her friends and family in every possible way. She was loved and known by so many as “Aunt Kay” and left us with so many amazing memories and will be missed by so many. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Raphael's Church, 3500 S. Broad St., Hamilton, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, 1200 Cedar Lane, Hamilton, NJ. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at St. Raphael's Church. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Lupus Foundation of America or Stray Cats of Hamilton.
