Obituary of Joseph A. Bujalski
HAMILTON, NJ -- Joseph "Joe" A. Bujalski, age 74, of Hamilton, NJ, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022, at home due to complications from Leukemia. Joe was predeceased in life by his parents, Joseph J. and Helen (Kulinka) Bujalski, of Newark, NJ, and his sisters Mary Ann Shemon and Diane Santos, and is survived by his wife Barbara Robinson Bujalski of Hamilton, NJ, his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph J. and Keysha Bujalski and granddaughter, Malaya, his stepsons, Tim Kenyon and wife Betsey Kenyon and their children, Victoria, Michael and Hayley, and Chris Howland and wife, Jacqlyn and their children, Ava, Aubree and Lucas, and Jonathan Howland and Emma Bethke, his brother, John Bujalski and wife, Mary Lou Panzano, and his sisters, Rose Ann Kenyon, Barbara DeNaia and husband, Jack, Joeanne Adams, and several nieces and nephews.
Joe retired from Crate & Barrel in Cranbury, NJ, where he worked for 22 years in Maintenance Handling and a myriad of activities in the skilled trades.
Joe served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1968-1969 as Specialist Four, Company B, 5th Battalion, 1st Infantry Division. A decorated Vietnam Veteran who served his country valiantly, Joe was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Air Medal, and three Bronze Stars.
One of Joe's Bronze Star Medals for heroism as a machine gunner during a mission in Vietnam assigned to Reconnaissance Platoon 1st Battalion (Mechanized) 16th Infantry, reads in part, “His exemplary courage, professionalism, and selfless concern for his comrades were instrumental in saving soldiers’ lives, and significantly contributed to the successful accomplishment of his mission. Specialist Four Bujalski's outstanding display of aggressiveness, devotion to duty, and personal bravery is in keeping with the finest traditions of the military service and reflects great credit upon himself, the 1st Infantry Division, and the United States Army.”
Joe did not talk much about his time in Vietnam. He saved lives, and the experience took its toll on him physically and mentally. A man of few words, Joe is remembered for his bravery, courage, strength, determination, and always putting the needs of others first. He was a loving husband, father, stepfather and grandfather, uncle, brother, brother-in-law and comrade. He was a good man, with a great sense of humor who, despite living a tough life, gave his all to whatever he did.
A private cremation was held on February 11, 2022. Visitors may pay their respects at a Celebration of Life being held Friday, March 11, from 10-11 AM ET at Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Ave., Hamilton, NJ (www.kingstonandkemp.com), followed by a funeral service at 11 AM.

The burial with military honors will be immediately after at Greenwood Cemetery, 1800 Hamilton Ave, Hamilton Township, NJ 088619.
