Obituary of Charles J. Brodowicz
Charles J. Brodowicz, age 72 of Hamilton, NJ, passed unexpectedly on Friday, Feb. 4, 2022 at Hamilton Continuing Care.
Predeceased in life by his parents, Leopold and Elizabeth (Martonick) Brodowicz, he is survived by his brother, James and Marlene Brodowicz of Jackson, NJ, his sister, Elaine and Tom Kennedy of Ponte Vedra, Florida in addition to two aunts, Florence Brodowicz of Bordentown, NJ and Audra Brodowicz of Waynesboro, Virginia, several nieces, Charlene (Brodowicz) Cardone, Kylene Kennedy, Kelly (Kennedy) Barbee, Karlyn Kennedy, Gianna Cardone, a nephew, Sal Cardone, and many cousins.
Charles was employed by the NJ DOT for 41 years. He retired in June of 2019 as a Specification Engineer. Charles received a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Rutgers University in 2014, a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) in 2007, and a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from Rutgers University in 1970. Charles was inducted into Alpha Epsilon Lambda, NJIT’s graduate student honor society in 2006.
Besides being an avid scholar, Charles loved to travel, having visited over half of the countries in the world. He had planned his next trips to France and Australia for this spring before his accident. Always an adventurer, you would never know where his travels would take him.
Charles also played keyboards in the band, The Galaxies IV, who won the International Battle of the Bands in Lambertville, NJ, in 1964, an event sponsored by the Tea Council that brought in 400 bands for one of the largest musical competitions in the country. The Galaxies IV also performed 80 performances at the 1964-1965 World’s Fair and Robert Moses State Park in New York. He continued playing keyboards for the Alexander Rabbit.
Charles loved his family and friends but will be remembered most of all for his love and devotion to God and his Catholic faith.
Funeral services will begin at 10 AM on Monday, February 14, 2022 at Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Ave., Hamilton, NJ (www.kingstonandkemp.com) with funeral mass at 10:30 AM at St. Raphael’s Church, 3500 S. Broad St., Hamilton, NJ.
Private cremation will follow.
Visitation will be on Sunday, February 13, 2022 from 2 to 4 PM at the funeral home.
