Shirley Emma Davis Vasanski passed away, peacefully, on December 17, 2024 at Serenity Hospice at RWJ Hamilton, Hamilton, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Allie Stanley and Pearl (Shinn) Davis. Shirley was born August 17, 1940 in Pemberton, NJ. She was a lifelong resident of NJ, living most of her life in the Trenton/Hamilton area. Shirley graduated from the school of life; marrying Albert Vasanski on October 24, 1958 and began her career as wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed caring for her family and most will remember her expertise in the kitchen cooking up delicious recipes to be shared with family and friends alike. When her husband of 58 years retired, she also enjoyed traveling with him visiting family and friends and enjoying seeing this great country. Her favorite place to visit with him was Myrtle Beach. Shirley is survived by her loving children, Linda Casterline and her husband, Greg of Pella, IA; Gary Vasanski of Trenton; NJ, Teresa Vasanski and her wife, Catherine Duffy of Sunrise, FL; Patricia Vasanski of Burlington; NJ, and Tanya Yost and her husband, Shawn of Burlington, NJ. She is also survived by her sister Sharon Zukas and her husband Ed of Hamilton Square, NJ and her sister-in-law, Eleanor Underwood of Manchester, NJ. Shirley was predeceased by her beloved husband Albert of 58 years, her eldest son, Albert, Jr., her daughter Lorraine, and, also, by her brothers Stanley, Ronnie, and Tommy Davis and her sister, Lorraine Lawson. Shirley is also survived by her devoted grandchildren: Jennifer Mendez and her husband, Mike of Burlington, NJ; Ashley and Samantha Cooke of Yardville, NJ; Aaron Casterline and his wife, Lori of Florence, AZ; Daniel Casterline and his wife, Krista of North English, IA; Christine Casterline and her husband, Justin Ferrarella of Lexington, KY; Sarah Fitzgerald and her husband, Nathan of Pella, IA; Joseph Casterline and Lucie Leyva of Chandler, AZ; Emily Casterline of Pella, IA; Colin and Ava Yost of Burlington, NJ. Additionally, Shirley is survived by her great-grandsons who she adored and brought her so much joy Leo Patrick and Max Albert Mendez. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Friday, December 20, 2024 at 11 AM at Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Ave., Hamilton, NJ. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, 1800 Hamilton Ave., Hamilton, NJ. Relatives and friends may visit on Friday from 9 to 11 AM at the funeral home.
