Please share a memory of Marjorie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Marjorie Ann (Gravener) Blair, 80, of Hamilton, NJ, passed away on October 29, 2024. Marjorie, also known as Marge, Margie, Mag, Casper, and D, was born in Riverside, NJ to Charles and Ann Gravener on August 22, 1944. She attended Hamilton High School West and graduated in 1962. She went on to earn her nursing degree at Mercer Medical Center School of Nursing, where she made many lifelong friends and became known as ‘Casper’. Marge worked in many areas of nursing in both New Jersey and California for several years, including psychiatrics, dialysis, pediatrics, dermatology, convalescence and rehabilitation, and general medicine. In the early 1980s Marge left nursing to join her husband, Danny, to run their business, Blair Landscapes. Over the 40+ years in business she not only kept the books and did administrative work, but also worked for many years doing physical labor in the field. Marge enjoyed visiting Harvey Cedars and Sea Isle City at the Jersey Shore, the Philadelphia Zoo, and Longwood Gardens with her family. She LOVED the Philadelphia Phillies and was a very passionate fan. Marge also loved to spend time with family and friends, read, listen to music and dance, bake cookies, and send greetings cards to everyone she knew for every special occasion. Marge was very active at St. Matthias and Holy Apostles’ Episcopal churches; she served on the Vestry, and for many years volunteered every Tuesday at Gleanings for Trenton Area Soup Kitchen. In 2018 she received the Bowl and Towel award for outstanding service from Holy Apostles’ Parish. She also reconnected with former classmates from HHSW and volunteered for her high school reunion committee for several years. Marge is survived by her husband, Daniel Blair of Hamilton, NJ, as well as her daughters, Robin Blair and Emily Reali, son-in-law Brian Reali, grandchildren Leila (15) and Malcolm (11) Reali, and granddogs Clarence and Hutch, who love her very much. She is also survived by her younger sister, Nancy (Gravener) Minor. Marge has a niece and 7 nephews and was fortunate enough to grow very close with her siblings’ children, Julie (Gravener) Davis, Chuckie Gravener, James Gravener, and Douglas Minor. She also has 8 great nieces and nephews. Marge is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ann Gravener, and her younger brother, Charles W. Gravener. A memorial service will be held at Holy Apostles’ Church, 1040 Yardville-Allentown Rd., Hamilton, NJ on Monday, November 11, 2024, at 11am with Father Michael Panzarella officiating. Calling hours will be on Monday, November 11th at 9:30am at Holy Apostles’ Church.
