Kay Ellen Murphy Obituary

On August 11, 2024 Kay Murphy, 65, of Trenton, NJ, unfortunately, passed away.

Born in Trenton, New Jersey Kay was the oldest daughter of beloved Albert and Kay Letts with 5 other siblings: Bobby, Albert, Barbara, Karen, Danny, Michael.

Early in her career, Kay was a travel agent and, later, became a court clerk for the Superior Court of Trenton, NJ from which she retired in 2013.

Kay found life’s greatest pleasures in the simple things such as gardening, reading, cooking, and traveling. Kay’s greatest joy and sense of accomplishment came from her grandchildren. Anyone that had the pleasure of knowing Kay knew that she was always someone that you could count on. She was extraordinarily witty and always stood her ground for what she believed in and that’s what made her so special. Kay was a one-of-a-kind person with a one-of-a-kind heart that everyone who knew her was lucky enough to be blessed by.

Kay is survived by her son Christopher Murphy grandchildren Hailey, John, and Michael Murphy, her sister Barbara Letts and brother-in-Law Mike Delaney, brother Gary (Terri) Sportelli, sister-in-law Cindy Letts, nieces and nephews Robert, Dana, Jennifer, and Melissa Letts, and beloved cousins, Tommy (Nancy) Metzler, Al (Donna) Letts, Jimmy McTamney, Johnny Todd, best friend of over 40 years Mary Colvin and her daughter Heather, beloved neighbors Steve and his son Josh Eget, and the countless other relatives and friends. Kay is predeceased by her father Albert Letts, mother Kay Letts, siblings Karen, Danny, Bobby, Michael, Albert, husband Christopher J. Murphy, and beloved cousin Billy Letts.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 11 AM at The Church of St. Anthony, 626 S. Olden Ave., Hamilton, NJ.

Interment will follow at Colonial Memorial Park, 3039 S. Broad St., Hamilton, NJ.

Relatives and friends may visit on Friday from 8:30 to 10:30 AM at Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Ave., Hamilton, NJ (KingstonandKemp.com).
