Peter Gerepka, 73, of Hamilton, NJ, passed away, suddenly, on July 8, 2024, at home.

Born in Trenton, NJ, Peter grew up in Lawrence Twp., attended Notre Dame High School and graduated in 1969 from Lawrence High School. After high school, Pete attended Trenton State College and received his BA in History. He then enlisted in the US Army in 1976 and served his term until being honorably discharged in 1981. He returned to the area, enrolled in Mercer County Community College, and became a Registered Nurse. He then returned to Trenton State College and earned his BS in Nursing. He served in the US Army Reserve from 1986 until 1992 and then returned to active duty. While serving his second term, he earned his Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from Baylor University in 2000. Peter served at Fort Gordon, GA, Beaumont Army Medical Center, El Paso, TX, Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, HI, back to Beaumont and then on to Fort Carson, CO, where he retired in 2013. He was the recipient of many decorations including the Meritorious Service Medal (6), Army Commendation Medal (2), Army Achievement Medal (4), Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal (2), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (3) and the UN Medal, as well as, the Expert Infantry Badge and the Parachutist Badge.

Son of the late William and Alice Gerepka, brother of the late Natalie Megules and James Gerepka and husband of the late Charline Locklear Gerepka, he is survived by his son Jason Gerepka, his daughter Bonnie Gerepka, his brother William Gerepka, his sister Maryanne Taft, his step-children Sherice and Ken Kassner and Jamie Soganic and his step grandchildren Katelyn Croke and Kyle Kassner and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 15, 2024 from 10 am to 12 noon at Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Ave., Hamilton, NJ (KingstonandKemp.com).

Entombment with military honors will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, 1800 Hamilton Ave., Hamilton, NJ.
