Charles A. Radvany, Jr. Obituary

Charles A. “Charlie Rad” Radvany, Jr. passed away, peacefully, surrounded by his family, on April 9, 2024 at RWJ University Hospital at Hamilton, Hamilton, NJ at the age of 71.

Charlie was predeceased by his parents Charles A. and Dorothy A. Ketch Radvany and is survived by his sister Judith Radvany, his brother James Radvany (Maureen), his sister Jane Rich (Wayne Irons), his beloved nieces and nephews Jennifer Dinnis (Zacharia), Jaclyn Petrilli (Stephen), James Radvany, Danielle Rich, Brian Radvany, Valerie Radvany, Morgan Irons, and his great-nephew Enzo Charles Dinnis. He is also survived by several cousins, Aunt Olga Radvany and his very best, lifelong friend John “Bing” Young.

Charlie was a lifelong resident of Hamilton, NJ and graduated from Steinert High School in 1971. He retired after a long career as Stock Room Manager at the Marie H. Katzenbach School for the Deaf.

Charlie was a very special person who would light up any room he walked into with his kindness and humor. He touched so many people’s lives and he loved everyone and everyone loved him. He will truly be missed by his loving family and all who knew him. Charlie overcame many obstacles in his life with his determination, positivity and a smile.

Charlie enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, living at Homestead, playing Bingo, having lunch at the Blue Danube with his very good friend Mark Drew, attending St. Mary’s Church, watching UNC Basketball, hanging out at the Hibos, and going any and everywhere Bing would take him. He was an avid sports enthusiast, attending live sporting events and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings and the New York Yankees. Earlier in his life, he participated in Special Olympics and had the honor of meeting Franco Harris.

Charlie coached several basketball teams in the CYO and AAU leagues and the Bordentown Baseball Little League. He sat on the bench consistently cheering on the Trenton Catholic High School’s basketball team. He also coached various local softball teams and traveled to many East Coast tournaments. He was inducted into the Trenton Softball Hall of Fame in 2018. He served as an usher at St. Anthony’s Church, Hamilton, NJ and St. Mary’s Church, Bordentown, NJ for over 30 years. Upon his retirement, he was inducted into the St. Mary’s Church Hall of Fame as an usher.

Charlie’s eulogy will begin at 10:45 AM on Monday, April 15, 2024 at St. Mary’s Church, 45 Crosswicks St., Bordentown, NJ, followed by mass at 11 AM.

Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery, 870 Centre St., Trenton, NJ.

Relatives and friends may visit on Sunday from 4 to 8 PM and on Monday from 9 to 10 AM at Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Ave., Hamilton, NJ (KingstonandKemp.com).
