John P. Pietras, 97, passed away on October 20, 2023 in the care of his daughter, Linda Pietras McDonald, as he always wanted. Born October 7, 1926 to Joseph Pietras and Mary Kielian Pietras in Trenton, NJ, John was a Trenton resident for most of his life. John is survived by his four of children, John H. Pietras and spouse Linda, Michael Pietras, Sr. and spouse Diane, Linda Pietras McDonald and spouse Gary (deceased) and James G. Pietras and spouse Kathleen. He is also survived by his step-children, James Walton, Patrick Walton and Kathleen Walton Rush and spouse Edward. He is also survived by multiple grandchildren (Michael, Bryan, Christopher, Adam, Jessie, Kevin, Matthew, Alex, Kaitlin, Alicia and Patrick), great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his wife, Alice Jesse Whited Pietras and his daughter, Kathleen Pietras Swick. He is also pre-deceased by his siblings, Catherine Pietras Denarski, Stanley Pietras, Helen Pietras Bartha, Joseph Pietras, Sr. and Adele Pietras Dempsey. He is also pre-deceased by his second wife, Delia M. Walton Pietras. John loved soccer and was inducted into the Mercer County Soccer Hall of Fame on April 11, 1992. In his later years, he played tennis and golf with various friends. He will be missed by all. Visitation will be held at Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Ave., Hamilton, NJ, on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Raphael-Holy Angels Parish, 3500 S. Broad St., Hamilton, NJ followed immediately by burial at Greenwood Cemetery, 1800 Hamilton Ave., Hamilton, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org) be considered.
