Shreeve W. Barton, 93, of Hamilton, NJ, passed away, peacefully, on Saturday, May 13, 2023.
Shreeve was born and raised in Trenton, NJ. He enlisted in the US Air Force and served honorably during the Korean Conflict. He was retired after a long career as a driver and apparatus operator with the Rusling Hose Co. and the Fire Commissioners of Hamilton Twp. Fire District #3. Shreeve was a life-member and past-president of both, the Rusling Hose Co. and the Rusling Hose Ambulance Corps., past-captain of the ambulance corps., and a member of the Mercer County Firemen’s Assoc. and the NJ Firemen’s Assoc. He enjoyed playing Bingo, trips to Atlantic City and spending time with his growing family.
As Shreeve would say “I did it my way”.
Son of the late Shreeve W. and Dorothy Howell Barton, husband for 55 years of the late Lois Barton, father of the late Gary and David Barton and father-in-law of the late Fran Schumacher, he is survived by his daughter Sharon Hoyer and husband Thomas, his daughter Diane Schumacher and partner Matthew Hamilton, his daughters-in-law Florence Lockett and Maria Calderone, his grandchildren Sean Breece, Jessica and Neil Costanzo, Gary and Angela Schumacher, Dina and Michael Sommerer, and Amber and Shreeve D. Barton, his great-grandchildren William Costanzo, Camielle Costanzo, Anna Rose Sommerer, Giana Breece and Francis A. Schumacher.
Shreeve’s family would like to extend their deepest thanks to the NJ Firemen’s Association for all of the assistance they helped provide, as well as, the caring staff of Allegria at The Oaks Assisted Living for their excellent care.
Funeral Services will begin on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 10 AM from Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Ave., Hamilton, NJ (KingstonandKemp.com).
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM at St. Raphael’s Church, 3500 S. Broad St., Hamilton, NJ.
Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, 400 Woolsey St., Hamilton, NJ.
Relatives and friends may visit on Thursday from 6 to 9 PM and on Friday from 9 to 10 AM at the funeral home.
