Joseph “Duke” M. Russo, 92, of Newtown, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at the Capital Health Medical Center.

Born in Trenton, NJ, he was a Newton resident since 1987.

He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Russo; brother, Victor Russo; and parents, Michael and Mildred Russo. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Russo; son, Joseph Russo and wife Mary Rose; grandchild, Nicole Russo; stepchildren, Marsha and Charles Wolff; step-grandchildren, Charles and Stacy Wolff, Stephanie Johnson and husband Patrick, and Hunter (Taylor) Maze; three great-stepchildren; and numerous relatives and friends.

Joe was a veteran of the Korean War, where he served with distinction in the United States Air Force. He was retired from the New Jersey Department of Transportation, where he provided dedicated service to the citizens of New Jersey for 40 years. In his retirement, he enjoyed travel, good food, and spending time with friends and neighbors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity in Joe’s name.

His final resting place will be at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, 400 Woolsey Street, Hamilton, NJ 08610.
