Anatoli Rishiy Obituary

Anatoli “Anatole” Rishiy passed away on March 19, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on January 2, 1951, in Venezuela, Anatole spent most of his life in Hamilton, New Jersey, where he built a life centered on family, hard work, and quiet humor.

He was the beloved husband of Eugenia Pecylak-Rishiy, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage. Together they raised three children: Christina Rishiy, Elizabeth Rishiy-Lee (Steven Lee), and Alexander Rishiy (Matthew Anker).

Anatole was a proud grandfather to Caylee and Caralynn Crouthamel, who brought him immense joy. He also had a special place in his heart for the family’s “four-legged grandchildren,” always enjoying their company.

He is also survived by his sister, Olga Rishiy-Gasser (Urs Gasser). Anatole was predeceased by his parents, Pawlo Rishiy and Maria Lazko-Rishiy.

For most of his career, Anatole worked as a member of Laborers Local 172, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication.

A quiet man by nature, Anatole was known among family for his unexpected dance moves at gatherings and his collection of corny jokes that could always bring a smile. He most enjoyed spending time with his family, creating simple moments that will be fondly remembered.

He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.

Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 24, at St. Stephen Ukrainian Catholic Church in Tom River, NJ. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY.
