Julia A. Straszewski Obituary

Surrounded by her loving family, Julia Ann Straszewski, 76, of Hamilton NJ was called home to the Lord on Wednesday February 25th 2026.

Born on November 11, 1949, in Beckley, West Virginia, to Michael and Julia Hutman, she moved to Hamilton, New Jersey, at the age of six. She graduated St Anthony’s High School and married her high school sweetheart Paul Stanley Straszewski on June 28th 1969. Together they raised three beautiful children, Paul, Susan & Mark. Before starting her family, Julia worked as a hairdresser. She later devoted herself to being a stay-at-home mother and then spent 20 years working in the Hamilton Township middle school cafeterias. After retiring in 2005 she and her husband relocated to their mountain paradise in Cameron, Montana. In 2023, she returned to New Jersey, where she bravely fought a long battle with cancer.

Julia was a beautiful soul whose smile could light up any room. Warm and welcoming, she treasured time spent talking, laughing, and making memories with her friends and family. She especially cherished being surrounded by those she loved.

Julia delighted in keeping her hands and heart busy. She found joy in painting, crafting, crocheting, baking, playing cards and board games, tending to her garden, and filling her home with flowers. She also shared a deep love of travel with her family, often spending months exploring destinations across the United States and throughout Europe, creating memories that will be cherished for generations.

Hard work was second nature to Julia. Alongside her husband, she took on many home improvement projects, including painting the interior and exterior of their home, installing siding, laying tile, building wooden cabinets, installing insulation, and hanging sheetrock.

Julia was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Julia (Shrodo) Hutman; her father- and mother-in-law, Stanley and Eleanor (Trout) Straszewski; her son, Paul Stanley Straszewski Jr.; and her brother, John Hutman.

She is survived by her devoted husband of almost 57 years, Paul Stanley Straszewski; her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Frederic Albert; her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Monica Straszewski; and her cherished grandchildren: Tilly, William, and Vivian Straszewski of Cameron, Montana; Julian and Naomi Albert of Geneva, Switzerland; and Ava and Michael Straszewski of Hamilton, New Jersey. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Mary Hutman; her sister-in-law, Patricia Hutman; and several nieces and nephews.
