Jeffrey D. Balling of Hamilton, New Jersey entered God’s embrace surrounded by loving family on February 21 at the age of 82.
Predeceased by his parents, Frances and Paul, and his beloved sister Helen, Jeff is survived by his wife of 51 years Mary; his children and their spouses Marc and Rachel, Matthew and Amy, Steve and Jill, Gretchen and Michael DiMarco, Daniel and Stephanie, and Diana and Dan Vasil; his grandchildren Jacob, Rebecca, Andrew, Christopher, Jackson, Deric, Carter, Timothy, Kurtis, Emma, Gwendolyn, and Alexander; brothers John and Frank (Jane); sisters Marian Teamerson and Dodie Maier; brothers- and sisters-in-law Colleen and Larry Castiglione and Bill and Michelle Norton; and countless nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and treasured friends.
Jeff was born and raised in Brockport, New York and earned his degree at SUNY Brockport. His service in the United States Army led him to a career in the then-burgeoning industry of data processing and information systems. After retiring from corporate America in 2001, he pursued his true calling when he became a substitute teacher at Reynolds Middle School. Jeff was active in his community including serving on the Board of Trustees of the Hamilton Township Public Library and was past president of the Hamilton Township Republican Club. He enjoyed spiritual fulfillment as a member of the congregation of Pearson Memorial United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28 from 12:00-3:00 pm at Pearson Memorial United Methodist Church, 71 Pearson Drive, Hamilton, NJ 08610. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm, also at the Church. Interment will be private at BG William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Ceremony at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Kingston and Kemp Funeral Home.
