Joan and her husband of 49 years owned and operated Joe and Bernie's Tavern, later known as the Eagles Nest on Liberty Street in Hamilton Twp.for 17 years. Joan was a life-long Eagles Fan and never missed a game. Go Birds!! After selling the business, Joan went on to work with the Mercer County Park Commission for 25 years. She was the Executive Secretary to Frank Ragazzo and they remained lifelong friends. During her time there, she was known for her dedication, work ethic and vibrant personality.

During Joan’s tenure with the Park Commission the Trenton Thunder was born. Joan took much pride in being a Charter Member season ticket holder with the baseball team. Joan was a fixture at the ballpark for 25 years where she knew everyone and everyone loved her.

Joan was a devout Catholic and member of Our Lady of Sorrows Rosary Altar Society. When no longer physically able to attend mass she would watch mass on television, praying the rosary for her friends and family.

Joan loved spending time with her family. She loved vacationing in Surf City, going on Cruises with her family and trips to Disney. Her kindness and generous heart were like no other. Family meant everything to her even in later years when it was difficult for her to communicate. She still smiled and laughed when we walked in the room.

We would like to thank the staff at Rose Hill Assisted Living and Vitas Hospice for their kindness and compassion towards our mother.
