Romeyn “Bucky” L. Buchanan, 86, of Hamilton, NJ, passed away, peacefully, on October 29, 2025.
Romeyn “Bucky” was born in Trenton to the late Anna and Leroy Buchanan. He served in the US National Guard. Bucky worked in many professions throughout his life, including servicing televisions and radios for Trenton Radio, dispatching first responders for the Mercerville Fire Company, and driving ambulances for Trenton Rescue Squad. He retired from the Hamilton Township Board of Education in 2002.
In addition to his parents, Bucky was pre-deceased by his brothers Alan B. Buchanan and Kenneth A. Buchanan.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara J. Buchanan; his three daughters and their partners, Doreen A. Buchanan and her partner Daniel LeSane, Kathleen J. Butler and her husband Jeffrey, and Elizabeth B. Buchanan and her partner James White; his grandson Edward Groff who was his caregiver until his passing; his granddaughters Kristie Butler-Scarpiello and Kimberly Butler; and great granddaughter Isla Scarpiello.
Relatives and friends may visit on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Ave, Hamilton, NJ. There will be a prayer service at 11:00 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery, Route 579, Quakertown, NJ.
