John A. Harrison Obituary

John Andrew Harrison, 80, of Hamilton, New Jersey, passed away, peacefully, on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, while under the compassionate care of Serenity Hospice at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Dora Marie Harrison; his parents-in-law, Domenick and Rosella Licciardello; and his sisters-in-law, Rosaria “Sally” Masterpole and Angela “Andi” Licciardello.


John is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Antonia “Toni” Harrison; his son and daughter-in-law, Shane and Elyse Harrison; and his beloved grandchildren, Leigha, Lauren, and Landon. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Kenny Papp; his brother-in-law, Salvatore Masterpole; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins who lovingly knew him as “Uncle John.”


Born on April 5, 1945, in Hamilton, New Jersey, John was a lifelong resident of the community he served so proudly. He graduated from Steinert High School in 1964 and soon after joined the Marine Corps Reserve, where he proudly served for four years and earned both the Rifle Sharpshooter and Pistol Marksman awards. Following his military service, John began a long and dedicated career with the Trenton Fire Department, retiring as Captain in 1995 after decades of honorable service.


John was an avid fisherman and hunter who cherished his time at the family’s home in the Poconos. He was a proud and active member of the Sportsmen’s Fish and Game Protective Association, the Rolling Oldies Car Club, and Signal 22.


Visitation will be held at Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 29, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12 Noon.


Burial with Marine Corps.honors will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Hamilton, New Jersey.
