Remembering Roy Knowles

Roy Knowles, who was born on October 1, 1962, lived a life defined by passion, dedication, and meaningful connections. A lifelong New Jersey resident, Roy made his home in Monmouth Junction and Toms River. Roy was predeceased by his parents Vivian and LeRoy.

Roy grew up in Hamilton, NJ. He graduated from Hamilton High West and Rider College. He learned the value of hard work at an early age. He worked at Tamarro’s Fruit and Produce on the corner of Liberty and Franklin Streets in Trenton, NJ from the time he was 14 years old throughout his college years. He worked seven days a week in the summer and at the age of 17, he was driving a truck from Trenton to Philadelphia to pick up produce. He saved enough money to buy a brand-new car for cash at the age of 19. Roy put himself through college, earned a degree in Computer Science, and worked in technology ever since. Roy's career in technology spanned his entire adult life, showcasing his intellect and mastery.

Yet, his true passions extended far beyond his professional work. He was a dedicated athlete, with a lifelong love for baseball and later in life softball. He had a remarkable ability to master new athletic challenges, most recently excelling at pickleball.

Roy's memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones, including his brothers, Michael and Daniel; his uncle, his nieces, nephews, great niece and great nephew; aunts, cousins, teammates, his close friends, including Anne Marie Riccobona and his beloved dog, Tank.

Roy was a role model for hard work and dedication who lived life on his own terms. His family asks that you remember him in ways that honor his spirit:

● Watch a ballgame with a friend

● Sit on the dock of the bay with a loved one

● Play a game of pickleball with your neighbor

● Most importantly, be kind to one another.
