It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas James Lavan, who departed this life on June 21, 2025 at the age of 66 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
A devoted father and brother, loving grandfather, and cherished friend, he leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering love for his family.
Born on October 26, 1958, in Trenton, NJ, Tommy was a man of strength and humor. He worked hard throughout his life, providing for those he loved with determination and pride. But it was in his role as “Grandpop” that he found his greatest joy.
His grandchildren were the light of his life—his heart beat a little stronger with every laugh they shared, every hug he received, and every moment he got to spend with them. He gave his whole heart to the role of being a grandfather.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Kelly (Jose) , his son and daughter-in-law Daniel (Jessica), his sisters Susan, Fay (Nick) and Lora, brother David (Ania), former spouse Kim and his precious grandchildren Chloe, Damian and Jack.
His love will forever live on in the stories we tell, the values he instilled, and the memories we hold dear.
He was the heart of our family—steady, compassionate, and endlessly supportive. His presence brought comfort, his words carried wisdom, and his love was felt in everything he did.
Though he may be gone from our sight, the lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave will remain with us always. His memory will continue to guide us, and his devotion to his grandchildren will forever be a shining example of what it means to truly love.
A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, Tommy asks that you honor him by spending time with your loved ones—especially the little ones—and cherishing the moments that matter most.
