Sally A. McGough Obituary

Sally A. McGough (neé Stanton), age 87, of Hamilton, NJ (previously Pipersville, PA), passed away peacefully on Friday, June 6, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She faced life with resilience, courage and a deep faith in Jesus that sustained her through life’s challenges.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Sally was a proud graduate of Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls in Philadelphia. A determined and spirited woman, Sally returned to college as an adult and earned her associate’s degree in computer programming-an inspiring achievement that reflected her perseverance and passion for learning. Sally enjoyed a fulfilling career with the New Jersey Department of the Judiciary, where she worked with dedication and professionalism until retiring at age sixty-three.

In retirement, Sally and her husband, Frank embraced a love of travel and adventure. They purchased a motor home and spent several years exploring the United States-often timing their trips around hot air balloon festivals which became one of their favorite shared pastimes. After living in Florida for several years, they eventually returned to their beloved Bucks County, which always felt like home.

A woman with deep appreciation for family and a zest for connection, Sally had a great passion for genealogy. She spent countless hours tracing her family’s Irish and Scottish roots, creating a lasting legacy of heritage and stories for future generations. She would find great delight in finding a long- lost relative. She and Frank also shared a deep love for animals, especially their two cherished collies, Leo and Teddy, who were both quite pampered and adored members of the family.

Sally was predeceased by her beloved husband of sixty-three years, Francis J. McGough. She was the daughter of the late William and Hannah Stanton (neé McAteer). Sally was predeceased by her son, Timothy F. McGough, her brother, William Stanton and her sister, Mary Slevin. Sally is survived by her daughters, Patricia Domboski (Richard) and Joanne Bronson (Walter) as well as her daughter-in-law, Constance McGough , wife of the late Timothy McGough and her sister, Patricia Stanton. Sally’s grandchildren are Brian Domboski, Kristen Domboski, Julie Curtis, Michael Willey, Lauren Wagner, Jillian McGough and Evan McGough. Her great-grandchildren are Catherine and Elizabeth Domboski, Louis Domboski, Sloan and Blake Curtis and Michael and Ryan Willey. Sally leaves behind many nieces and nephews and extended family.
