It is with very deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Edward S. Dilli on April 20, 2025 at the age of 79. Born in Trenton, NJ to the late John W. Dilli and Theresa A. Dilli Migliaccio, Ed was predeceased by his brother John M. Dilli and his step-father Vincent Migliaccio. A graduate of Trenton Catholic H.S., Ed entered the OFM Conventual Franciscan Order and spent 25 years as a Brother in upstate New York, New Jersey and Canada. At that time, he served as Vocation Director and assisted in several parishes. Ed went on to graduate with a Masters degree in psychology and counseling from McGill University. He eventually returned to Hamilton, NJ as a substance abuse counselor. Ed will always be remembered for his deep concern for others, and his great sense of humor which sometimes tended toward silly sarcasm. His favorite pastimes were enjoying the beach, listening to music, cooking German recipes and recalling trivia with anyone who would listen. Ed is survived by his sisters Mary Lou Kegel and Cathy A. Vannozzi, two sisters-in-law, Carol Dilli and Anne Flagg, and his loving nieces and nephews. Following cremation, a Mass will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Church in Hamilton Square, NJ at 10 A.M. on Friday May 9, 2025. Interment of cremated remains will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ. Mass will be preceded by visitation with the family in the gathering space from 9:00 A.M. to 9:45. A.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Edward Dilli’s name to the Franciscan Breadline for the Poor at 135 W. 31st Street, NYC, NY 10001.
