Obituary of James P. Rura

James P. Rura, 73, of East Windsor, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, April 21, 2025. Son of the late Anthony S. Rura and Vera Mae (Collum) Rura of Yardville, NJ, Jim was born on November 6, 1951.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Cynthia A. (Demski) Rura, who passed in 2005. Jointly they operated C&J Press, a typesetting and printing service in Hightstown and later in Hamilton.
Jim is survived by his wife of 18 years, Joanne Moore Rura, sons Peter Rura and Timothy (Andrea) Rura, brothers Charles Rura and Frank (Susan) Rura, and his sister Katherine (Joseph) Kaluzny. He is also survived by his stepdaughters Courtney (Alberto) Rios, Ashley (Robert) Adams, and six granddaughters: Lauren and Natalie Rura; Zoey and Hailey Rios; and Amara and Maisie Adams.
Jim graduated from St. Anthony High School and Mercer County Community College. He was a longtime resident of Hamilton before moving to East Windsor in 2007.
Jim retired from Educational Testing Service in 2017 after 23 years in the publishing, marketing, and web operations areas. He was pivotal in launching the company’s initial online presence and later managed a team of developers.
An avid classic Volkswagen enthusiast, Jim enjoyed restoring and camping in his VW bus. As a member of the Old School Euros Car Club, he attended many local car shows. His interest in printing continued as he collected and restored vintage letterpress printing equipment to print cards and stationery as a hobby. Jim also earned his General class ham radio license and enjoyed communicating with others worldwide (KE2BXQ).
Funeral service will be on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 10 AM at Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Avenue, Hamilton, NJ.
Interment will follow at Ewing Church Cemetery, 100 Scotch Road, Ewing, NJ.
Relatives and friends may visit on Thursday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
