William “Bill” Schurter, 85, of Florence, NJ passed away on Saturday, April 19th at Brookdale Senior Living in Florence.
Born in Hamilton, NJ, Bill graduated from Hamilton High School before serving in the Marine Corps. He retired from Dataram Corp. after a long career as a Production Control Manager.
Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family.
He was proud to have been a member of Hamilton’s Little Bigger League which became the 1st District of the Babe Ruth Baseball League. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, especially devoted to his beloved Eagles. He loved to travel and enjoyed the planning as much as the actual trip.
He’s pre-deceased by his parents, William and Anna Schurter; his sisters Elaine Sangillo (Fred) and Shirley Schurter and his mother-in-law, Margaret Rush.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Peggy; his children, Victoria Pensabene, Michael Schurter (Tracy), Jeffrey Schurter (Donna Marie Holden), Donna Chisick (Michael); his grandchildren, Brandon Pensabene (Amanda Koester), Evan Pensabene (Sydney Fisher), Derek Pensabene (Izabele Kanatous), Emma Chisick, and one great-granddaughter Harper Pensabene. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Haines and Judy Rush as well as several cousins and nieces.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 11 am at Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Ave., Hamilton, NJ.
Relatives and friends may visit on Saturday from 9 to 11 am at the funeral home.
