Karen Alice Treshock Curley passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 23, 2025, after a long illness. She was 71. Born in Newark, New Jersey, on October 10, 1953, Karen was the eldest of seven children born to Joseph and Loretta Treshock. She was raised in Bloomfield, NJ, where she attended St. Valentine’s Catholic School and graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1971. She later studied at the Philadelphia School of Art and Design where she earned her associates degree in Interior design. In 1981, Karen married the love of her life, Raymond Curley. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised three children—William, Patrick, and Maureen. In 1993, the family moved to Rowlett, Texas, where they lived for over two decades before returning to New Jersey in 2017. Karen was a gifted artist with a passion for sewing, crafting, and creating special handmade gifts for the people she loved. She had a deep appreciation for music, especially Rock ’n Roll, and was a lifelong fan of Bruce Springsteen—passing that love of music to her children. Known for her sharp wit, intelligence, and unfiltered honesty, Karen had a unique way of making everyone laugh and feel seen. She took great pride in her family, her roots in New Jersey, and her role as “Coco” to her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Loretta Treshock, and her brothers Joseph and Richard.
