William S. Eger, beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather, passed, peacefully, from this world on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Serenity Hospice at RWJ Hamilton, Hamilton, NJ, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease, surrounded by his loving family.
Bill was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Hamilton, NJ after his military service. He was predeceased by his parents William Eger and Frances Gross, his step-father James Gross and his sister and brother-in-law Dolores and Anthony Vecchiano.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Cassie Parker Eger, his daughters Christi-Leigh Eger and Jamie (Tom) Wall, his two precious grandchildren Thomas Paul Wall and Addison Quinn Wall, his sister Patricia (William) Gerhardt, nieces, nephews, cousins, his mother-in-law Cathy Reid, his two sisters-in-law, his brother-in-law, as well as, countless dear friends.
Bill was a proud patriot, a dedicated husband and a loving father. He was a very proud Vietnam Veteran and could always be found at patriotic events standing tall and proud as the American flag was raised. He served in the United States Air Force with the Spooky AC 47 Gunship Unit. Bill received great recognition on behalf of his patriotism and involvement. He was awarded the “Quilt of Valor” and the Knights of Columbus “Patriot of the Year” award. He also received the Legion of Honor “4 Chaplains” award, along with a Distinguished Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Mercer County Military Service Medal. Bill was an active member of American Legion Post #31, a Life-member of the DAV, the Hamilton Township Patriotic Committee, Vietnam Veterans United and VFW Post #491.
Funeral service will be Friday, March 28, 2025 at 12 Noon at Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Ave., Hamilton, NJ.
Entombment with Military Honors will follow at Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Rd., Wrightstown, NJ.
Relatives and friends may visit on Friday from 10 am until 12 Noon at the funeral home.
Due to cemetery regulations prohibiting flowers, Bill’s family requests that memorial contributions be made in his honor to American Legion Post #31, 1490 S. Olden Ave., Hamilton, NJ 08610, the Hamilton Township Patriotic Committee, 2090 Greenwood Ave., Hamilton, NJ 08609 or a charity of the donor’s choice.
