Elba Iris Gonzalez, of Hamilton, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on February 27, 2025, at the age of 63, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. Born and raised in the city of Trenton, she was an avid lover of books, music, her family, and friends. She was known for her kindness, compassion, wit, and incredible sense of style. In her life, she was many things: a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, and colleague. A self-taught computer whiz, she dedicated many years to the state with NJEDA as their IT support. Elba was pure joy in human form and will be missed greatly by all who knew her. Predeceased by her mother, Manuela Velez, and brothers, Angel Alvarez and Steven Gasda, Elba is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Eddie Sr.; her children: Eddie Jr. (Maria), Melissa (Conrad), Chelsea, Alejandro (Odalys), and Corey; as well as 9 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, and 1 grandson on the way. She is also survived by her sister, Maritza Chambers (Jim); brothers, Richard Alvarez (Darlene), Howard Alvarez (Mary), Stevie Santini (Carol), Joey Alvarez (Joanne), and Elvin Alvarez (Bessie); and many nieces and nephews.
