Sharon Elmer Wilkus, a dedicated registered nurse and cherished family member, passed away at 7:16pm on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Riverview Estates, Riverton, NJ. Sharon’s family found comfort once realizing her time of death numerically matched her late son’s birthday. She was predeceased by her parents, Caroline and Henry Elmer; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Loretta and, Martin Wilkus; her son, Eric Ryan Wilkus; her sister, Beverly Woodward; and a dear family friend, Pauline Rosenberg. Sharon is survived by her husband, Walter Wilkus of Yardville, NJ; daughter, Victoria (Vicki) Veitenheimer and son-in-law, Garry Veitenheimer of Riverside, NJ; grandchildren, Nicholas Boan, Brianna Boan, and Jeanann Cookson; step-grandchildren, Dylan Veitenheimer and Dustin Veitenheimer; brother, Henry (Hank) Elmer and sister-in-law, Charlotte Elmer; brother, Jeffrey Elmer and sister-in-law, Fran Elmer; sister, Kimberly Jones and brother-in-law, Bill Jones; sister-in-law Lorraine Patel and brother-in-law, Piyush Patel of Somerville, NJ; niece, Gita Patel and Tika Patel; nephew, Shaun Elmer; nephew, Christopher Elmer; niece, Jennifer Worthington; nephew, Matthew Elmer; nephew, Cody Jones; nephew, Billie Jones; niece, Carly Jones; nephew, Michael Anzalone; and her beloved grand huskies, Hunter, Koda, and Luna Veitenheimer. A graduate of Hamilton High School West, Class of 1967, Sharon furthered her education at Trenton Vocational School, where she studied practical nursing, and Mercer County Community College. She began her nursing career at Helene Fuld Medical Center, where she made significant contributions to patient care. Sharon also served as a school nurse at Hamilton Township School District and was previously employed by Harmony School and the Visiting Nurses Association. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Avenue Hamilton, NJ. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Hamilton, NJ. Relatives and friends may visit on Monday, March 3, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. funeral service. The family would like to thank everyone for their support during this difficult time.
